Therapy

We have studied human behaviour and psychology collectively for seven decades. A journey originating when Nik was told he only had eight weeks to live. Faced with a life-or-death situation, in pursuit of a solution, Nik made a discovery that changed everything.
Not only did he find a solution, but further discovered information is inherently flawed, and often remains unchallenged for decades.

Having studied for a decade Nik formed many individualistic views on mental health diagnoses and the treatment of the same.
Nik then joined forces with Eva, and they began studying and working together on Niks’ theories. After many years of prodigious success, helping those suffering with perceived incurable diagnoses. Nik & Eva’s experience and research led to the creation of three pioneering therapies. Those therapies in future, could very well change the landscape of how mental health diagnoses are treated.

‘Schema Conditioning Psychotherapy’® a behavioural change therapy,
‘Visual Schema Displacement Therapy (VSDT)’® & ‘Visual Schema Detachment & Restructuring (VSDR)’®
are eye movement and visual image-based therapies.

Our core belief is that no one is born with any specific mental health issues.
Diagnoses are derived purely from psychosomatic responses to trauma.

Our main consideration, is:

“It’s not what is wrong with any individual, it’s what happened to them, that causes their mental health issues.”

  • Visual Schema Displacement Therapy (VSDT)®

Visual Schema Displacement Therapy (VSDT)® is a visual-based therapy.

Since 2015, we have been working with renown psychology professors at Universities in Amsterdam and Utrecht, who conducted scientific studies into the workings of our VSDT®. Two scientific study papers documenting its efficacy vs. EMDR, were published in June 2019 in The Journal Of Behaviour Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry. A third study with similar results was published in The European Journal of Psychotraumatology in April 2021. A clinical study with PTSD patients was published in March 2024 in Frontiers In Psychiatry. This clinical study supports VSDT’s efficacy in treating PTSD, offering a valuable therapeutic option comparable to EMDR for successfully treating PTSD.

Visual Schema Displacement Therapy (VSDT)® a therapy that involves eye movements, similar to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing), a well-established first-line treatment for trauma. VSDT® therapy however also contains several other differing elements.

  • Schema Conditioning Psychotherapy®

Schema Conditioning Psychotherapy® is a cognitive restructuring therapy, similar to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Our baseline, no one is born with any mental health issues, and all psychosomatic symptoms are borne from trauma. The paramount consideration is viewing trauma as perceptual and contextual, for example, a trauma to a child may not necessarily be a second thought to the same adult looking back at their past.

The Schema Conditioning® engages a five-step process which looks to change flawed perceptions, by using a process of cognitive restructuring, by challenging flawed memories utilising overwhelming and varied factual contra-evidence.

  • Visual Schema Detachment & Restructuring (VSDR)®

Visual Schema Detachment & Restructuring (VSDR)® is a visual-based therapy.

The process involves taking a visual image and scoring the emotionality of the image using an 11-point Likert scale. Detaching the image, and restructuring the emotionality of the image, by associating the image with another image in a different location, and with a different (often opposite) emotionality. The image is then re-scored, and if necessary, the process repeated, until the Likert score has reduced to zero.
